Sometimes life throws us curve balls. Yes. It’s true. Shocker right?
We can be on a routine that we absolutely LOVE and are fine with, then gradually we either fall off the bandwagon, things get stale, etc. Sometimes it can be difficult to stick with a routine after it gets old. Or we have a few cocktails then a slice of pizza and wonder why we were living on such a strict regimen in the first place.
I know what it’s like. Everyone get’s sick of their routine. EVERYONE.
Also- EVERYONE tries to walk the line or cross to the other side of the workout/eat healthy regimen when they get sick of it.
What I can share with you, is both empathy as well as some knowledge.
STICK TO IT.
Its ok to yo-yo a little bit. That is natural and sometimes even necessary.
What is key, is realizing that it is happening to you, and stop yourself before you get in too deep. Chances are you will either gain weight back or start to feel terrible and have to go through the whole process of cutting those nasty foods out again and re-motivating yourself to get in the gym.
It is hard to squeeze into workout clothes and go to the gym when you aren’t feeling yourself.
But you have to.
Think of how wonderful you feel in every day life, how confident when you are working towards your goals and doing everything you can to be healthy. Even if you have some cellulite on your butt, or don’t have the six pack you want, when you are eating healthy and have a strong body with confidence, it radiates everywhere!
You don’t pay attention to those minor details because inside you can know your body is 100% consuming and working towards being it’s best! Whatever that means for you.
In the end, if you are so miserable or if you start to despise your routine, then plan a night out and have some drinks and some pizza. Go on vacation and FORGET about your Macros for a week. WHATEVER.
But chances are, the more you realize the benefits your healthy life has on your mood, your confidence, your energy, and so much more, it won’t get so old so fast. You might even lose the desire to cheat all together.
The Human body and mind are constantly growing and changing. It is so gradual but so real and can sometimes hit you like a Mack truck.
Being adaptable, creative, and having the ability to take a new look at what is working and whats not is critical. You also need to be able to re-evaluate your goals! Maybe you do want to bulk and gain more muscle. Maybe you do want to slim down a bit. Maybe you want to be faster. Maybe you want to have better endurance. Maybe you just want to be lean and flexible. Whatever your goals are, make sure you are re-evaluating your routine to see if it is helping you achieve those goals.
Just like everything in life, sometimes you have to stop and re-evaulate what you are doing to make sure it truly is working for you. 🙂
